At Notch, we're looking for a highly organized and proactive Assistant Project Manager to join our Direct Plant Services team. This role is an entryway into a long-term project management career in the mechanical piping industry, supporting key aspects of project delivery and estimating. This position is designed to prepare you for progressive roles in project management, client relations, and estimating.
Pay Rate: Depends on Experience
Key Responsibilities
- Client and Team Coordination: Act as a reliable point of contact, communicating effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to keep projects aligned and issues resolved. You'll support project managers in maintaining forward momentum.
- Procurement and Scheduling Support: Oversee material orders, equipment rentals, and subcontractor schedules to ensure timely project flow. Coordination is essential-timely procurement and efficient scheduling will be a major part of your success in this role.
- Project Documentation & Tracking: Maintain organized and up-to-date project records, including schedules, budgets, and progress reports. This documentation plays a crucial role in keeping clients informed and projects on track.
- Estimating Assistance: Collaborate closely with our estimating team to contribute to accurate, competitive project bids, submit Requests for Information (RFIs) as needed to clarify bid details.
- Site Walkthroughs & Preparation: Represent Notch during client bid walkthroughs, take detailed notes, and strictly follow PPE and safety guidelines.

Required Education and Experience
- Education/Background: An Associate's degree in Construction Management, Project Management, or equivalent hands-on experience in construction or related fields.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
- Construction Environment Comfort: Must be comfortable in a construction setting, as site visits are part of this role.
- Desk Work Capability: Prolonged periods working on a computer are required. Ability to lift up to 15 pounds may be occasionally needed.

Requirements:
- Demonstrated an ability to work effectively as part of a team.

- Knowledge of Notch client industries and practices, a plus

Education and Experience:
- AS in construction management, project management or equivalent experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Comfortable in a construction environment
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift fifteen pounds.
