Location:While IES Abroad is headquartered in Chicago, the Assistant Project Manager may work out of their home or work out of IES Abroad headquarters in Chicago, as required.

Summary of position:
The Assistant Project Manager will support the work of the Senior IT Project Manager and IT department by supporting multiple IT projects across the global organization. Working closely with global, cross-functional teams, the Assistant Project Manager leverages a budding technical background, solid project management skills, and excellent communication skills to support successful project delivery within scope, schedule, and budget.
Essential Job responsibilities & Duties:
- Support internal and external resources as well as third parties/vendors for project execution by scheduling meetings, documenting minutes, driving task completion, and recording decisions, action items, and next steps
- Commit to and demonstrate values and promotion of diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism
- Organize, prepare, and schedule meeting venues
- Coordinate calendars for multiple IT staff resources, project stakeholders, and projects
- Monitor project scope, schedule, communicate status updates, proactively identify and mitigate risks and issues
- Contribute to the planning and development of projects
- Follow proper change control procedures
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and align with business requirements
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
- Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
- Report project status and escalate to Senior IT Project Manager as needed
- Complete any tasks assigned by the Senior IT Project Manager in an efficient and timely manner
- Promote positive relationships with project team members and all internal and external stakeholders

Experience & Qualifications/Skills:
- Proven project coordination/management related work experience, in IT is a plus
- Minimum 2-3 years dedicated project management experience
- Excellent internal and external communication skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable giving presentations to project stakeholders
- Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multi-tasking ability
- Ability to prioritize and support multiple projects concurrently
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Knowledge of Atlassian suite of products preferred (Jira, Confluence)
- Familiarity with Agile methodology a plus
- Familiarity or experience with Workday and Salesforce a plus
- Ability to demonstrate values and promotion of diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism required.
Education, Licenses and/or Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher or equivalent work experience in technical project management
- Working toward PMP certification a plus
