Position Overview:
As an Assistant Construction Project Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting the Project Manager and their construction initiatives, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This position is one of learning and growing to become a Project Manager over time. If you have a strong analytical mindset and exceptional organizational skills, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Project Manager and Superintendent with daily duties, including creating and maintaining project schedules, pre-construction and in-progress meetings, coordination of meetings with clients and subcontractors and project owners.
- Assist Project Manager with negotiating contracts with vendors to secure favorable agreements.
- Assist Project Manager with obtaining necessary permits and licenses from relevant authorities.
- Assist in monitoring inventory of equipment and materials to prevent shortages.
- Assist in purchasing materials and equipment for various projects.
- Create and track RFI's and review submittals.
- Distribute and track RFP's to multiple subcontractors prior to assembling bids.
- Assist in compliance with health and safety standards.
- Other duties as needed, required or assigned.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Construction Project Manager in a commercial setting.
- Proficient understanding of construction procedures, materials, and project management principles.
- Familiarity with quality standards and health and safety regulations.
- Proficient in MS Office and construction/project management software.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities.
- Strong skills in multi-tasking and a collaborative team player.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in grocery construction.
- Bilingual English and Spanish
