What You'll Do
Summary:
The Assistant Project Manager will work with Project Managers to provide general administrative, technical, financial, and resource management support to the project from initial bid preparation through completion. The employee will be responsible for project data collection, entry, and management within the relevant corporate information systems which will deserve a high attention to detail and thoroughness. In this role, it will be essential to learn how the business runs, how changing circumstances are handled, and who to contact when there are questions. Critical for success are excellent oral and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work in teams. Will be required to work from the regional office in Aurora, CO and be available to travel to projects within the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support development and maintenance of project documents utilizing various systems, including Microsoft Excel, Primavera P6, EcoSys, and others.
- Work with safety personnel to ensure that project is being built in accordance with OSHA and company regulations and that proper training is occurring.
- Maintain a professional appearance with the ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Define problems, collect information, and establish facts to provide an appropriate resolution.
- Support pre-construction efforts in bid preparation, contract and exhibit review, and execution planning.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, vendors, and material suppliers.
- Monitor/control construction through communication with superintendent to ensure the project is built on schedule and within budget.
- Review cost reports and evaluate methods to reduce cost while maintaining productivity.
- Manage budget projection for labor, material, equipment, and subcontractors procured on the project. Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly projections and progress for all construction activities.
- Responsible for accurate project cost forecasting on a weekly basis.
- Responsible for meeting internal and external invoicing and payment application processes.
- Responsible for productivity, efficient use of materials/equipment, and contractual performance of assigned projects.
- Lead daily, weekly and monthly meetings, as required, including the formulation of the agenda and minutes.
- Develop, negotiate, submit, track, and maintain client and/or subcontractor change orders
- Generate daily, weekly, or monthly meeting documents as required.
- Assume additional responsibilities as directed by division or project management.
What You'll Bring
Requirements:
- Knowledge of project management, project controls, estimating, construction, finance, and contract management.
- Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards and activities.
- Accounting (math and record-keeping) to include the ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and operations as needed to examine construction operations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Visio).
- Familiar with or ready to learn Primavera, JD Edwards, Hubble, EcoSys, Incorta, and B2W technology platforms.
- Effective communication (oral, written, presentation, listening).
- Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks.
- Ability to travel and work on project locations is essential.
- Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle driving record (MVR).
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical specifications, financial reports, and legal documents.
Education and Experience:
- Two-year construction science, project management, construction management, construction engineering, engineering, or similar related degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
- Preferable to have two years project coordination, construction management, or project controls experience in similar construction.
- Entry level knowledge of all aspects of project management, project controls, contract management, budgeting, estimating, and schedules required.

The salary range for this position generally ranges between $64,700.00 to $79,200.00. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, operational needs and other considerations permitted by law. The range may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rule 4.1.2.

Compensation Range
