The Assistant Program Director will provide supervision of Case Management services to ensure quality care to persons served that have experienced homelessness, mental illness and substance use. In the absence of the Program Director the Assistant Program Director will supervises all program staff in conjunction with the Regional Director.
- Direct supervision of all program staff about case management and program services, individual and group
- Audit and review of individual consumer progress notes and service plans in conjunction with clinical staff
- Responsible for ensuring consumer service plans are reflective of agency standards, person-centered and trauma informed.
- Responsible for maintaining contact with other service agencies and ensuring client placement for treatment and program activities (may include volunteer job placement)
- Assist in coordinating with Director of Intake scheduling/interviewing all new tenants
- Responsible with orientation and transitioning of new tenants into the program
- Participates in crisis intervention, reporting management to agency and other stakeholders as needed
- Support Facilities Management staff in ensuring maintenance of apartment standards as outlined by S:US, OASAS and diverse funders
- Provides emergency and relief coverage as necessary
- May represent agency with community groups and agencies developing linkages for consumer services
- Provides supervisory meetings with all staff and maintains documentation of these meetings
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMEN
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related human service degree
- 3-5 years of experience working with individuals with mental illness, substance use issues and/or a history of homelessness, or in the human services field
- 2 years supervisory experience
- Must have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficient in MS Word/Excel
- Experience working with different populations preferred
- Understanding of the diverse needs of individuals and families experiencing homelessness and experience working with people affected by HIV/AIDS, Substance Use Disorder and Mental Health.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- MSW or degree in related field
- Bilingual English/Spanish speaking preferred
- Harm Reduction, Trauma informed care, and Motivational Interviewing experience preferred
