Assistant Plant Manager from Elgen Staffing

Our client, a nationwide manufacturer of custom home furnishings, has an immediate need for an experienced Assistant Plant Manager, to join their winning team in Newington.

Our candidate of choice will assist the Plant Manager with daily plant operations to include all pre and post-production related activities. You will initiates plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital and assure attainment of production objectives and schedules while maintaining product standards that will exceed our customers’ expectations. Ability to speak Spanish is required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS:

• Supervising: 2 years (Required)
• 2-5 years of experience in Production or Manufacturing Supervision or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum Associate’s Degree, Bachelors’ Degree Preferred
• Proven track record of academic and professional excellence.
• Strong PC skills and the ability to navigate within the company systems are critical.
• Working knowledge of relevant software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
• Ability to understand and accurately apply basic math skills.
• Understanding of internal controls.
• Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to plan and organize; good time management skills.
• Ability to retain information (e.g., policies, procedures) or find it as needed.
• Problem solving ability.
• Customer service oriented.
• Ability to operate under pressure of deadlines.
• Cooperative, team oriented, patient, calm under pressure, and able to work independently.
• Ability to function in fast-paced environment.
• Bilingual required (English/Spanish)
