Salary: $51,000-$64,000 Annually
Summary:
The Assistant Plant Manager is responsible for assisting the Area Operations Manager with all activities performed daily at the operation including safety, production, maintenance of fixed and mobile equipment, direction of employees, financial compliance, and vendor interaction and ordering of parts.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Complete oversite and supervision of the sand and gravel mine, safety, employees, and process
• Daily interaction and direction of the workforce and facility operations
• Plant processing, maintenance, fleet management, record keeping, and quality control
• Continuous improvement of the facility and working for KPI and metrics improvements
• Full P&L responsibility, and operational budget cost control
• Monthly reporting and working with finance team on invoice processing
Global Responsibilities:
• Regular attendance and physical presence at work is an essential function of this position
• This job may require additional duties not listed above and the employee may be asked to perform those duties to meet business needs
Qualifications:
Education/Specialized Knowledge/Professional Certifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
Experience:
• Experience working in quarries, mines, and material processing required
• 3-5 years experience in union facility management preferred
• Mobile equipment operation experience preferred
Skills/Abilities:
• Aggregate processing equipment and repair
Working Conditions:
• Operation within a fast-paced environment
• Exposed to moving mechanical parts, vehicles, heavy construction equipment, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions.
• Noise level is usually moderate, but can be high and requires personal hearing protection on occasion at job sites, plants and laboratories
• Some travel to other neighboring plant locations may be required
Physical Requirements:
• Regularly required to talk or hear; frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms
• Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
