About the Job
The Assistant Plant Manager oversees areas of manufacturing to produce products and direct activities so that customer orders are manufactured on-schedule, within quality standards and meet cost objectives. Manages overall operations and is responsible for the effective and successful management of labor, productivity, quality control and safety measures. Ensures safe and efficient operations. Coordinate the activities of department Supervisors to ensure the accomplishment of production goals considering quality, sales, and delivery.

What will you do?
- Leads Manufacturing leaders to effectively drive activities on the shop floor that achieve the organizational goals.
- Coordinate all activities related to manufacturing quality parts for our customers.
- Achieve optimum staffing levels with cost controls of overhead and raw material costs to meet annual budgetary plan.
- Oversee the hiring, orienting, training and ensures safety of employees and capable workforce.
- Act as liaison between department leaders and executive levels to drive decisions, actions, communications, and results.
- Identify, recommend and implement changes to improve productivity, reduce cost and eliminate waste/scrap.
- Manage and coordinate various programs essential to manufacturing procedures.
- Manage the establishment, implementation and maintenance of production standards.
- Initiate and coordinate major projects (e.g., plant layout changes, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc.).
- Keep current on information and technology affecting functional areas to increase innovation and ensure compliance.
- Able to assist leveling growth within a fast-paced growing organization.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Comply with all safety, DOT, HAZMAT and environmental policies and procedures.
- Ability to work at the Bloomington facility.
- Work on/participate in special projects as needed or assigned by Management.

- $140,000-$180,000 annual salary. Salary based on years of experience and educational background

What do you need to be successful?
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration/related field and/or equivalent experience required for this role
- 10+ years previous experience in a process-oriented manufacturing environment
- Attention to detail, ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel
- ability to work with others through complex situations
