Salary/Hourly Rate:
$55k – $65k
Position Overview:
The Assistant Planner will play a key role in supporting the planning department by analyzing sales data, tracking inventory levels, and assisting in the development and execution of merchandising strategies. This hybrid position requires a hands-on approach in-office, with the flexibility of one day working remotely each week.
Responsibilities of the Assistant Planner:
- Assist in developing and maintaining merchandise plans and forecasts.
- Analyze sales and inventory data to identify trends and opportunities for business growth.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including buying, marketing, and operations to ensure alignment of product assortment and inventory levels.
- Help manage inventory flow and assortment allocation to stores.
- Prepare and present weekly/monthly reports on sales, inventory performance, and trends.
- Support in markdown and promotional planning to drive profitability.
- Participate in vendor and product meetings to help drive assortment and product selection.
Qualifications for the Assistant Planner:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret sales data and trends.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and retail planning software (experience with merchandising tools a plus).
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while balancing multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
