A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PASTRY LINE COOK
You start each day ready to be a part of a fast-paced and fun culinary environment. As an Assistant Pastry Chef, you take responsibility for the day-to-day operations of our pastry kitchen. You are able to maintain production standards in all stations of Pastry Shop-breads, banquets, pastry carts, and production. You exercise decoration techniques demonstrated by the Pastry Chef and those new techniques reflecting industry trends. You will maintain recipes file of all recipes used in the Pastry Shop, as well as decorating templates or stencils needed for cake decorations. Assists in training of new employees and stewards in shop procedures or recipes. You will be responsible for daily menu special, cake and pastry menus for pastry cart. Monitors daily banquet requirements for desserts and breads, sets up banquets as directed by banquet orders. You will perform other duties as assigned by Executive Pastry Chef or Executive Chef.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2-5 years' experience preferred.
- Graduate of culinary school or apprenticeship program
- Able to certify as Pastry Culinarian and Working Pastry Chef in 2 years.
- Basic skills in cake decorating and chocolate.
