We have an immediate need for a full-time Assistant Operations Manager
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 4:00pm with occasional Overtime
Location: Project CU St. Louis, MO
Travel Required: Up to 10%
Pay Rate: $24.00 per hour
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Assistant Operations Manager provides support to the Operations Manager and Production Supervisors to further our mission to employ individuals with disabilities by ensuring that our Shipping and Receiving of Product, Inventory Control, and Warehouse Operations are properly maintained, and provide a safe and inviting working environment. In this role, the position will have primary responsibility for all truck traffic, in bound, out bound, and in house product movement and scheduling dock.
The Assistant Operations Manager will maintain the warehouse in a safe and organized manner, and provide for a regular inventory of materials, product (raw and completed), and commodity to include quantities, location, condition, and all appropriate identifying product codes, lot numbers, date, et al.
The Assistant Operations Manager will be responsible for producing and maintaining Shipping and Receiving documents, inventory information, and reports in a timely and accurate manner.
The Assistant Operations Manager will perform the preventative maintenance for the PCU fleet and the warehouse material handling equipment. He will also maintain and oversee the warehouse and facilities cleaning operations and ground maintenance logs for each.
The Assistant Operations Manager may supervise certified workers to fulfill some warehouse, facility, and grounds duties as needed and directed.
The Assistant Operation Manager will train for and provide back-up and assistance to the Operations Manager for Production Lines, Preventative Maintenance of Production and Facilities Equipment, and as a back-up for the data entry and reporting duties of the Operations Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Material Handling
Loads and unloads materials to and from designated storage areas, such as racks, shelves, trucks, etc. Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination, using a forklift or hand truck. Will obtain lift certification for all material handling equipment and a Class E license. Will operate all material handling equipment and vehicles in a safe manner. Signals directions or warnings to co-workers when moving products or machinery throughout the building. Installs protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.
Shipping and Receiving
Provide excellent communication and documentation for all materials, BOLs, orders, and other documentation of products moved in to or out of the facility. Provide information and communication regarding shipment to the Operations manager in a timely manner and to other production staff as needed.
Computer Skills and Reporting
Enter all data and information into all necessary PCU computer and data capture platforms regarding product, payroll or documentation for CWs assisting on projects, damage to facility or receipted goods, scheduling, and inventory. Have a working knowledge of all PCU platforms and Microsoft suite.
Preventative Maintenance
Provide preventative Maintenace to all PCU fleet vehicles and material handling equipment as scheduled. Maintain PM schedule, create and modify as equipment and needs change. Provide reporting on conditions to Executive Director and Operations Manager. Create and maintain facilities cleaning schedule and grounds maintenance schedule. Clean and Maintain PCU facilities and Grounds in coordination with PCU Volunteer and Certified Worker labor.
Client and Staff Relations
Promote a culture that advances the Company’s mission to provide work opportunities to individuals with disabilities. Display and promote Company values. Maintain effective communication and positive relationships with co-workers, communicating needs to supervisor and implementing feedback for improvement. Assist with training, answering questions as they arise, and other tasks as assigned with a special focus on safety, quality, and customer service. Ensure a high rate of client and staff satisfaction.
Perform other related duties and assignments as required
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
Experience: Basic mechanical and engineering and construction knowledge
Certifications/Licenses: Class E Driver's License. Forklift certification (have or obtain certification within 1 month of starting). CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute), CPR/First Aid (obtain within first 6 months of hire)
Background Checks: Must pass criminal background check and various State and Federal registry checks.

Driving:
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License and must be 21 or older to drive.
- Must pass driving history check and Company policy criteria.
- Company travel using a personal insured vehicle is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Occasionally sitting in the normal course of driving a vehicle
- Routinely standing, walking, bending, squatting, reaching, and twisting in the course of loading/unloading material and counting product
- Occasionally listens and speaks with staff and Certified Workers to ensure successful project completion and a safe workspace.
- Continually visually alert to monitor the area where work is performed to maintain safety and complete duties.
- Continually using hands in grasping, lifting, writing, carrying, driving, and operating power tools.
- Occasionally bending, reaching, and twisting; occasionally climbing stairs and/or ladders squatting, and kneeling.
