Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Nurse Manager for the Intensive Treatment Unit to join a team focused on delivering exceptional patient care. This role involves leading nursing staff, maintaining a safe environment, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. As a key leader, you will promote a culture of respect, trust, and safety for patients, families, and team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure quality patient care in alignment with organizational policies and standards.
- Supervise nursing staff and provide administrative leadership in the absence of senior personnel.
- Coordinate responses to emergencies and liaise with Access staff to assess admission appropriateness.
- Oversee patient care delivery in a safe, therapeutic environment while adhering to regulatory compliance.
- Conduct chart audits, manage safety hazards, and ensure adherence to health and safety requirements.
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and direction to nursing staff while encouraging professional development.
- Address conflicts diplomatically and resolve ethical issues related to patient confidentiality and privacy.
- Support staff in completing mandatory training and maintaining compliance with performance evaluations.
- Monitor staffing needs and adjust schedules based on patient census and acuity levels.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree and RN accreditation from an accredited program.
- Minimum of 3 years of psychiatric nursing experience, including 1 year in a leadership role.
- Active NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License.
- A valid U.S. Driver’s License.
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 90 days of hire.
- Proficiency in computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Suite).
Preferred:
- MSN degree.
- Certification in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing.
- Experience with IV therapy.
