Network Support Technician (Onsite)
Location: Amarillo, Texas & Boys Ranch, Texas
Job Type: Full-Time, Onsite
Overview:
We are seeking a Network Support Technician to join our team and support the maintenance and operation of our organization’s network communications infrastructure. This onsite position involves assisting with LAN systems, IT hardware setups, and network cabling installations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in network systems and technical support, ensuring smooth operations across multiple campuses.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Design & Maintenance
- Assist in the design, installation, and maintenance of network communication systems and cabling, including fiber, CAT5/6, coaxial, and analog phone lines.
- Support the implementation and repair of security systems such as cameras and door entry devices.
- Collaborate on network-related projects alongside the Systems Manager.
Technical Support
- Respond promptly to user technical support requests, diagnosing and resolving issues efficiently.
- Work closely with Helpdesk staff to address hardware and software concerns.
- Maintain accurate logs of projects, identified issues, and implemented solutions.
Equipment Setup & Oversight
- Coordinate the installation, repair, and upgrades of IT hardware, including computers, printers, and scanners.
- Assist with systems monitoring and access control programs, ensuring optimal performance.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Provide support for ongoing network projects and step in during the Systems Manager’s absence to ensure continuity.
- Work effectively with team members across campuses to meet organizational needs.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: Associate degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field (equivalent experience may substitute for a degree).
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in CAT5/6 cabling (required).
- Fiber Certification (must complete within one year; training provided).
- Familiarity with computer setup, configuration, and IT hardware.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office Suite.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year in customer or technical support (3 years if substituting for a degree).
- Skills:
- Strong troubleshooting, time management, and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Other Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid Texas driver’s license and ability to travel as needed.
- Physical capability to perform tasks such as bending, lifting, and prolonged sitting/standing.
