Assistant Manager- Supply Chain - Kent Hospital

Primary Function

Provides leadership, guidance, and serves as a management resource for the Inventory Case Specialists at Kent ASC and MAIN OR, ensuring cases are properly picked, supplied, and replenished properly for the surgical areas of the hospital. Ensures that product is properly requisitioned, stored, picked, and rotated in the surgical services stockrooms and partners with the team to assist with picking the surgical cases. Clinical knowledge and interaction with the Surgeons, Nurses, OR team and Supply Chain Purchasing team is vital to ensure proper products are available at the time of surgery. Other duties include monitoring inventory as demanded by the surgical schedule.

Creates and maintains an environment which promotes staff development and demonstrates ACT values. Serves as a resource for the OR team, ensuring that the customer service provided within Surgical Services is according to the organizational and departmental objectives.

Job Qualifications and Specifications

High school degree required, Associates or Bachelors’ degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of one- three years’ experience in surgical services, inventory control or inventory management, or knowledge of medical devices/supplies. Prior supervisor or lead experience. Prior experience in a hospital, healthcare, or medical device, medical/surgical supplies, or medical equipment. Experience in a buying system such as Lawson, or an equivalent system. Must have skills and abilities in inventory management, analytical skills, problem solving, interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication, team leadership and participation, general math and financial analysis, ability to manage multiple projects. Proficient in computers and MS office. This position requires a highly motivated, dependable, well-organized team player who has the ability to motivate others.
