Assistant Manager Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Exhibiting the 3 Core Values of 1836 Foods: Integrity, Reliability, Positive Attitude.
- Teaching teammates how to care for and serve customers with a smile.
- Preparing Jersey Mike's highest quality Submarine Sandwiches throughout the day for in-store, online, and pickup customers.
- Opening the store or closing the store.
- Ensuring all food safety and health code requirements are followed.
- Promoting a team spirit and positive morale among the team.
- Performing daily checklists.
- Placing food and beverage orders, or supervising a team member who prepares the food and beverage orders.
- Filling in the team's weekly schedule with the assistance of the General Manager.
- Capable of filling all roles in the team (such as vegetable preparation, cookie and bread baking, slicing subs, sprinkling and wrapping subs, grilling hot subs, cashier, and daily cleaning).
- Speaking to customers about Jersey Mike's local charitable efforts and national charity campaigns.
- Performing other work-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- High school diploma or GED certificate preferred though not required, or demonstration of sufficient reading and math skills to read check lists and participate in on-the-job training.
- Positive attitude and initiative required!
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends where needed.
- Excellent customer service to treat patrons like family.
- Strong communication skills to teach and motivate fellow team members.
- Willingness to learn and grow daily.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

- regularly come into contact with water, sanitation solutions, meat products, poultry products, seafood, and produce items.
-frequently wash hands. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
