Job DescriptionUniversal Studios Hollywood is dedicated to delivering our guests fun, unique, and unforgettable experiences. The Assistant Manager of the Retail Warehouse is a key player in achieving this by ensuring that all retail merchandise flows smoothly, efficiently, and accurately from the Warehouse to retail venues, fully stocked and ready to enhance our guests’ experience. This position oversees various Retail Warehouse operations and collaborates with other departments to meet business objectives.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Oversee and maintain SOPs across all warehouse departments, including freight coordination, receiving, equipment management, pulling, shipping, night operations, and all supplemental work processes.
- Ensure that all processes and procedures comply with company policies, B-192 union agreements, and legal regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels and control systems to ensure accuracy. Investigate and resolve discrepancies through process review and reconciliation.
- Regularly inspect and maintain warehouse equipment and the facility. Communicate repair needs and requisitions for equipment replacement to the appropriate teams.
- Safeguard warehouse operations and merchandise by enforcing Loss Prevention protocols and procedures to maintain inventory accuracy and exceed shrinkage reduction goals.
- Foster a safety culture through proactive communication, training, regular audits, and close partnership with the Health and Safety team. Ensure all accident investigations and safety concerns are thoroughly addressed and completed on time.
- Support the preparation and management of the annual budget. Monitor weekly schedules, supplies expenses, and time punch variances. Address any discrepancies through effective communication and corrective action.
- Set productivity targets across all departments, ensure they are met, and provide ongoing training. Regularly monitor performance, communicate results to the team, and follow up to ensure objectives are achieved.
- Drive team member satisfaction by fostering open communication through daily pre-shift meetings, recognition programs, monthly team-building events, quarterly awards, and regular departmental updates.
- Communicate clearly and consistently with internal management, Orlando support teams, and other Universal Studios Hollywood departments.
- Produce and distribute regular reports and statistics (daily, weekly, and monthly)
- Respond promptly to external work requests
- Supervise and manage warehouse team members, including equipment operators, leads, freight coordinators, and supervisors. Ensure that all responsibilities are met and daily tasks are completed efficiently.
- Maintain attendance and behavior logs. Effectively address any performance or behavioral issues through communication and corrective action.
- A minimum of 3 years of managerial experience in warehouse supervision or operations, with a proven track record of leading and optimizing warehouse functions.
- Ability to efficiently manage day-to-day operations across multiple departments while balancing ongoing projects and additional responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge, hands-on experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and a solid understanding of logistics operations and inventory management best practices.
- Demonstrates a guest-service-oriented approach, fostering positive interactions and collaboration with various internal and external departments to enhance the overall guest experience.
- Certification in forklift operation and comprehensive knowledge of driver safety protocols and general warehouse maintenance.
- A thorough understanding of pick, pack, and ship procedures, ensuring efficient and accurate order fulfillment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experienced in using WMS software to manage warehouse activities and reporting.
- Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor, consistently representing the company’s image and values.
Desired Characteristics:
- Strong management capabilities with a proven ability to organize and lead a large team, ensuring consistent performance and adherence to quality standards in a 24/7 operational environment.
- A college degree in warehousing, logistics, supply chain management, inventory control, materials management, or transportation is preferred but not required.

Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
