Manage the daily operations of MTA closing agents, ensuring tasks are performed accurately and transactions are completed promptly. Assign work and delegate responsibilities to staff, monitoring their progress to achieve agency goals and maintaining high-quality customer service. Prepare closing documents and facilitate real estate transaction closings. In the absence of the Title Manager, the Assistant Manager oversees the department supervisors.
Responsibilities:- Supervises the daily activities of MTA processors and closers, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and transactions are closed on time.
- Assigns work and delegates responsibilities to staff, monitoring their progress to achieve agency goals are maintain high-quality customer service.
- Assists with other personnel activities of staff, such as hiring, training, performance appraisals, disciplinary matters, rewarding and motivating.
- Communicates with sellers, buyers, lenders, Realtors, and other pertinent parties to facilitate smooth transactions.
- Collaborates with SCU Mortgage staff, SRS agents, outside lenders' mortgage staff, and outside Realtors to promote seamless and efficient mortgage closings
- Communicates with sellers, buyers, lenders, Realtors, and other pertinent parties to facilitate smooth transactions.
- Prepares Closing Disclosures (CD) and//or HUD Settlement Statements and other closing documents.
- Obtains approval from lender for CD or HUD Settlement Statement.
- Orders update of title search from the underwriter.
- Resolves any issues discovered in the title search, payoffs of outstanding mortgages, judgments, etc.
- Schedules appointments for closing transactions.
- Forwards file to appropriate lending institution with instructions for closing.
- May conduct closings of real estate transactions at Members Title Agency office or at the office of the lending institution. Disburses real estate transactions.
- Assist Manager in maintaining the procedural manual, templates and systems used by the Agency.
- Executes and audits the wire transfer process from the Members Title Agency escrow account.
- Ensures staff is adhering to Agency and Credit Union policies and procedures.
- Review and recommend new methods or procedures to make daily operations more efficient
- Perform considerable short-term planning, scheduling, and coordinating to develop and implement business objectives
- Set goals for assigned teams to achieve operational and strategic results
- Provide guidance, mentoring, and development opportunities for directly reporting staff
- Cultivate strong working relationships, build trust among team members, and respond appropriately to employees' concerns
- Assist with the development, monitoring, and maintenance of the annual budget
- Assist with regulatory compliance to ensure work is completed in accordance with applicable laws and government regulations
- Maintain knowledge and understanding of current trends, laws, and issues affecting area of expertise
- Attend educational events to increase professional knowledge
- Complete annual compliance and info security training to understand employees' role in maintaining effective compliance and security programs
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field. (A comparable combination of work experience and training may be substituted for education requirements.)
- 6 or more years of progressively responsible title insurance experience. Supervisory minimum of 2 years at a supervisory level or above.
- Must hold a Title Insurance Agent's License issued by the Florida Department of Insurance.
- Must be a Notary Public.
- Able to prioritize tasks, deal effectively with competing and changing priorities, and meet deadlines. Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of title insurance processing, closing, and disbursement. Thorough knowledge of title insurance industry policies and procedures.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance necessary to successfully perform job responsibilities.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of all Title Agency computer systems and software programs required to perform job duties.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills in order to interact professionally and effectively with staff, customers, realtors, and lenders.
- Must be able to work under minimal supervision.
- Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Excellent organization, prioritization and analytical skills to effectively manage areas of responsibility and attain organizational goals
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators
- Ability to analyze and resolve complex problems or situations
- Ability to positively influence others regarding policies, practices, and procedures
- Strong knowledge and understanding of credit union products, services, policies, and procedures
- Strong knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance
- Strong knowledge and understanding of credit union computer systems and software applications required to perform job duties
