Assistant Manager of the Mailroom
This is a part time position (23-25 hours). Hours will be from 11am-3pm Monday and Friday, and 10am-3pm Tues-Thursday. Some occasional weekend hours (2-3 hours) may be required during breaks/holidays to maintain proper order in the mailroom while students are away. Reduced hours in the summer months (15 hours)
Reports to: General Manager
Hourly wage: $14.50/hr
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Receiving and signing off on all deliveries as necessary; checking deliveries for Bethel's address and communicating errors with delivery persons immediately
- Sorting paper mail and packages for students/departments as necessary
- Consistently downloading/updating mailbox information for student mailbox lists
- Continually verifying the Bethel Staff/Faculty List for sorting department mail
- Monitoring the mailroom email and answering questions as needed
- Training and instructing student workers on daily tasks
- Knowledge in operating the mail machine for outgoing mail/stamping charges
- Maintaining accurate monthly records of outgoing mail for department shipping charges and reporting these to the General Manager
- Knowledge and assistance in delivery routes for student/department mail/packages
- Effective and friendly communication with students and/or staff/faculty to provide good service
- Maintaining proper housekeeping, cleaning, and organization of the mailroom
- Coordinating with the Campus Store Managers on any issues that arise
