The Assistant Manager is responsible for the overall operations of the dispensary. The Assistant Manager will report directly to the Dispensary Manager and the VP of Retail Operations. The Assistant Manager is responsible for managing day-to-day operations of the dispensary in accordance with state and local laws, and standards set by Sweetspot. This position provides support to all employees which includes: scheduling, training, providing policy and procedure updates, product information, and keeping updated with industry news. They are responsible for maintaining the dispensary sales floor, ordering and receiving all inventory and products, arranging deliveries, and maintaining facility compliance and cleanliness. They must maintain a professional appearance, organized work environment and facility appearance.
Core Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Training all staff members.
- Oversight of staff accurately preparing and packaging customer orders in our designated experience area in a manner meeting all requirements set forth by the Cannabis Regulatory Commission.
- Follow all existing inventory and inspection procedures to ensure full compliance in performing essential job functions.
- Maintain accurate record keeping of inventory levels and packaging materials.
- Schedule and oversee all inventory activities as required by New Jersey's regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
- Document creation and oversight that all staff members are following SOPs.
- Work closely with the Inventory team and Cannabis Advisors to ensure accurate record keeping of all inventory.
- Have intimate knowledge of all aspects of the dispensary and provide staff support when issues arise.
Reports and Documentation
- Maintain daily receipts, expenses and reporting.
- Proper processing and filing of Invoices, manifests, and vendor licensing.
- Document and report all inventory reconciliation and discrepancies.
- Managing financial records.
- Conduct scheduled and random audits of both dispensary operations and financial records.
Policy Development and Enforcement
- Assist in the creation of SOP's.
- Conduct periodic audits and make appropriate revisions of SOP's.
- Conduct and document staff training on SOP's.
- Keep up-to-date with both state and federal laws and regulations.
- Conduct training with staff on both state and federal laws and regulations.
Job Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience managing staff and general operations knowledge.
- Demonstrated ability to create and modify SOPs.
- Ability to handle interpersonal relationships and solve conflicts between employees.
- Ability to demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:
- Personnel management
- Inventory Management
- Development and implementation of quality control measures
- Problem solving
- Physical ability to walk back and forth across the facility and lift/move up to 50lbs if necessary.
- Must be 21 or older.
