JOB SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Join the forefront of our store's success by actively participating in the development and implementation of plans to meet daily sales goals. Your keen insights will be instrumental in increasing the average sale per transaction and sales per square foot. As a vital member of the store management team, you'll assist in supervising activities related to merchandise arrangement, visual displays, and space allocation, ensuring that each corner of our store reflects our commitment to excellence. Step into leadership roles with confidence as you supervise employees alongside senior management, seamlessly filling in as the manager on duty when needed. Take charge of verifying the quantity, quality, and value of merchandise received in the store, making necessary adjustments according to established procedures. Your sharp pricing acumen will come into play as you determine the value and price of various items, ensuring consistency with company guidelines. Keep a vigilant eye on inventory control and loss prevention efforts, taking proactive measures to minimize errors, internal shrinkage, and shoplifting.
From completing daily, weekly, and monthly reports to maintaining the security of cash and store receipts, you'll handle each task with precision and attention to detail. Serve as a pillar of support for the store's infrastructure by addressing facility maintenance and security issues, ensuring the smooth operation of all equipment. Whether it's attending training sessions or providing first aid/CPR assistance when required, your commitment to excellence shines through in every aspect of your work.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Experience the versatility of your role as you handle diverse tasks such as phone inquiries, merchandising, and inventory management. Your keen eye for detail and proactive approach will contribute to the seamless operation of our store.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must have:
- Two years of customer service experience, preferably in retail apparel management.
- Two years of supervisory experience and merchandising skills.
- An insured vehicle for store-related travel and access to a home or cell phone.
- A minimum age of 21 and a valid resident driver’s license with a clean record.
- Eligibility for a positive outcome on the required criminal background check.
- Current automobile insurance and license plates.
- Compliance with Goodwill's Drug and Alcohol Abuse Policy, given the safety-sensitive nature of the position.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Elevate your career with a high school diploma or equivalent, coupled with a flair for numerical proficiency. Our comprehensive training program spanning up to six months will empower you to excel in your role.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrate agility and coordination through tasks like climbing, balancing, stooping, and reaching. Effective communication is essential as you engage in verbal interactions and auditory tasks.
In terms of lifting and carrying, expect medium work, lifting a maximum of 50 lbs. and frequently handling objects up to 25 lbs. Engage in heavy work with pushing and pulling, exerting a maximum of 100 lbs. and frequently managing objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
