We're hiring for a (RRT) Registered Respiratory Therapist Assistant Manager/Supervisor for Adults for full time working in a flexible position with hours between 1st and 2nd shift (Start Time between 10:00AM-3:00PM) for the University of Chicago Medicine Hyde Park, IL.
The Respiratory Care Services Department at the University of Chicago Medicine is committed to providing quality individualized care for adult, pediatric and neonatal patients through the employment of highly trained (RRT) Registered Respiratory Therapist, advanced technology and defined patient protocols.
In this role, the (RRT) Registered Respiratory Therapist Assistant Manager for Adults will be responsible and accountable for over-seeing the operations and patient care duties of the Adult Hospital Respiratory Therapy Care Services department. Duties include completing daily assignments, quality audits and Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI) boards, facilitating daily huddles with staff, and directing delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in a financially responsible manner. This is in collaboration with and under the supervision of the Respiratory Care Services Manager (RCSM). ARCSM supports RCSM with 24/7 coverage of the unit in creating, maintaining and adapting the scheduling of all staff on the 6-week scheduling periods. In the absence of the RCSM, the ARCSM assumes responsibility for the unit.
(RRT) Registered Respiratory Therapist Assistant Manager/Supervisor Education and Experience Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational body is required.
- Must be a graduate of a CoARC approved school of Respiratory Care Services.
- Must have two or more years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
- Must have three or more years of management or supervisory experience.
- Must hold a current RCS license in the state of Illinois.
- Must be a current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Must be an active member of the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC).
- Must actively hold a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Must actively hold an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Must actively hold a Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in an Educator role.
- Experience as a working as a Lead.
- Previous management experience

Compensation & Benefits Overview
UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits. The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.
The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
