Job Summary: Plan, coordinate and lead all Environmental Services Department activities and functions. Serve in EVS production role as needed and as assigned by Department Operations Manager. Provide assistance, training, and guidance for all staff members using continuous performance improvement. Ensure that all personnel follow appropriate procedures and guidelines related to Infection Control. Accomplish department operational objectives. Support operations that drive employee satisfaction. Provide leadership to ensure performance improvement, customer service and effective teamwork. Develop excellent working relationships with internal customers. Provide input to department Operations Manager in planning, operational, and budgeting functions, including vendor management. Play a vital role in controlling cost to ensure the department alignment with organizational direction. Work in conjunction with Human Resources and EVS Leadership to effectively recruit and retain a stable and competent workforce. Work with team members, peers, and other departments’ leadership to resolve operational challenges. Assistant Managers will represent the CARES values as a part of the daily working environment.
Qualifications: High School Diploma required. 1-3 years of progressive Healthcare, Hospitality, Laundry or Military leadership experience required. Strong interpersonal relationships, financial and planning skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent customer service skills required. Computer skills including Microsoft Office and demonstrated ability to learn departmental and organizational programs; including email, Employee Evaluations, Net learning, , Quantros, Kronos, black light testing program/audits, and EPIC.Initiative/problem solving skills required to manage and foster a team environment.Knowledge of EVS policies and procedures and have demonstrated ability to deal tactfully with hospital employees and the public. Ability to teach and train staff effectively to achieve high performing individuals using standard work. Available to work any shift including weekend and holidays when needed. CHEST, CSCT, Just culture and crucial conversations certifications required within 12 months of Employment. Participate in 12-month program and pass a comprehensive computer based exam.
