Job Title: Assistant Manager- Equipment & Supplies (EQ&S)
Hours: 6:30 am – 5:00 pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday; 6:30 am – 3:00 pm Saturday
Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Manager for our EQ&S Department. This role will report directly to the General Manager and will be responsible for driving equipment and supply sales, managing rental operations, and ensuring the efficient day-to-day operations of the store. The ideal candidate will excel in customer service, sales, and operational oversight while maintaining a focus on merchandising, inventory management, and staff accountability.
Job Responsibilities:
Report directly to the General Manager.
Responsible for both inside retail equipment & supplies sales along with our rental counter
Work with assigned store personnel on merchandising product groups to ensure we have the correct product mix to meet the customer demands.
Follow-up to ensure stock and product levels are in place to maximize sales.
Assist with the day-to-day operations of the store including Sales, Bid Follow-up, loading/unloading customer vehicles, as well as material handling on inbound and outbound products for the department if needed.
Responsible for growing and developing equipment sales for the location while providing sales support for the outside sales team and other retail locations.
Be a direct contact for all equipment sales, qualifying the customer, handling equipment customer inquiries from the Internet, and internal and external communication while also providing superior customer service.
Ensure we have equipment displayed, signed, cleaned, and presented professionally daily, including all exterior equipment displays.
Stay up-to-date on all training available for the various equipment lines that are carried in our locations. This includes studying online, attending formal training seminars, and working with factory representatives to be aware of all available training available and obtain any individual training that they offer.
Gain the knowledge of the process required with the approved equipment financing program for the division and utilize this as your selling tool to grow sales.
Work to support the customer service objectives of the company and provide efficient, timely, professional service to our customers both over the phone and in our locations at all times.
Look for ways that we can improve and enhance our customer service in the department.
Assist the General Manager to ensure receiving and warehouse personnel are handling and receiving products for the division, as well as supporting intercompany transfers, customer deliveries, and pickups.
Become familiar with other divisions and services offered by the company and how they relate to retail sales and promote and support these areas as needed.
Work with the General Manager on planning vendor training, product training, and demo days, and play a role in submitting Marketing Requests to grow sales and improve product awareness and availability throughout your department.
Work with the General Manager to ensure that you have a full understanding and awareness of the opening and closing procedures (phones, registers, credit card machines, cash, daily invoices, lockup, and securities).
Assist the General Manager in ensuring all assigned personnel follow established warehouse standards including safe stacking and storing procedures, fire exits, proper use and lift equipment inspections, and personnel staff company safety policies are followed (i.e., steel toe footwear, personnel protective equipment provided).
Monitor the Propane Pump station for compliance with Tank/Cylinder storage. Oversee Propane use by all divisions of the company to ensure the correct transfer is processed.
Accountable for store and warehouse cleanliness, organization, merchandising, and display presentation. Ensure that the customer service counter is neat, organized, and maintained professionally.
Obtain the systems knowledge on utilizing the Orgill & ACE supply process and brand within the showroom with visual displays and increased awareness for both customers and sales personnel.
Assist in handling customer complaints and follow-up and seek input from management when needed.
