Job Description
Title: Assistant Manager
Reports To: Store Manager
1. Statement of the Position-
Responsible for assisting the Store Manager in overseeing the complete and efficient operation of a Convenience Store. The Assistant Manager must be capable of performing and training others for all duties and all positions, including running the store in the Managers absence. The Assistant Manager must be flexible in their schedule and work odd hours as needed.
2. Duties and Responsibilities-
A. General Management
- -Performing tasks assigned by the Manager.
- -Cover shifts in the absence of cashiers.
- -Keep Store Manager well informed on store activities and employee's
- performance
- -Work with Store Manager in day to day operations to ensure compliance of company policies and procedures.
- -Act as a medium between Store Manager and subordinate employees, conveying
- concerns, ideas and opinions.
- -Work with store personnel to ensure store image and customer service meet
- company standards.
- -Alert appropriate personnel of store needs (i.e. equipment, maintenance etc.)
- -Be able to perform all subordinates job duties.
- -Oversee the store in the managers absence including:
- -Completing paperwork including bank deposits, markdowns and inventory
- procedures
- -Scheduling and overseeing subordinates.
- -Grocery orders and vendor check in.
- -Training employees.
3. Bookkeeping
- -Work with Store Manager to ensure timely, accurate and legible paperwork.
- -Assist the Store Manager in controlling operating expenses.
- -Assist the Store Manager in maintaining the price book.
