Title: Assistant Manager
Reports To: General Manager - GM
Overall Responsibilities:
AGM assists the GM in operations of a single restaurant establishment. May be responsible for specific tasks and may act as manager in the absence of the GM. To act in behalf of the GM and carry out all directives of the GM in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures. Manage staff and assures that entire staff is – Customer Driven. Follows GM’s lead in assuring that location is meeting its revenue and profit objectives and that operations are functioning in accordance with Corporate Policies, Procedures and Directives. Develop effective leadership skills in interacting with staff while instilling a sense of pride and teamwork in the execution of their tasks. Assist GM in monitoring and evaluating staff’s performance and, in his/her absence, assures that the staff acts in a professional and courteous manner.
Specific Duties:
- In collaboration with the GM and Management team, coordinate the training of all staff to assure that they are fully trained in the performance of their duties in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures. [I.e. daily prep, shift changes, ticket reconciliation; closing].
- Be out front to orchestrate the seating and service to the customers.
- Make sure that all receipts, invoices and other documents needing to be forwarded to corporate, are retained in a central location in a neat and orderly manner and assure that these documents are sent to corporate accounting daily and properly.
- In collaboration with the FOH-Bar Manager, coordinate the training of all bar staff and assist in ordering and inventories.
- If requested by the GM; Prepare, on proper forms, weekly work schedules for entire staff no later than the Wednesday prior to the following workweek.
- Check all deliveries to assure that all paperwork is in order and all items accounted for.
- Assist GM in preparation of and attainment of operating budgets for location.
- In collaboration with the corporate HR, assure that new employees have completed all required paperwork via Talent Reef and that they are fully indoctrinated into the work ethic and philosophy of the Company.
- Assure that new (and if necessary existing) employees are fully trained and retrained in up-to-date methods for attending to customers and performing their duties; including Aloha.
- Assures that all staff including management is properly branded according to Company Policies & Procedures at all times.
- Cook when necessary – but in all cases monitor kitchen activities to assure that you location meets recipes for food preparation and portion control.
- Assist GM in evaluation of each staff member every 6-months utilizing corporate evaluation form via Talent Reef.
- Make sure daily cash or equivalent receipts are deposited no later than 12 hours after closing.
- At the direction of the GM – assure that facilities and equipment are regularly maintained and that needed repairs are completed promptly and efficiently. Report any facility maintenance problems immediately to corporate office.
- Perform other duties that may be assigned by senior management.
- Always arrives to work on time.
