We currently have an opening in our Maintenance department for an Assistant Maintenance Manager. The Assistant Maintenance Manager position is a full-time, salary, exempt position. Assistant Maintenance Manager - Essential Duties
The Assistant Maintenance Manager works alongside the Maintenance Manager to oversee the Maintenance Department. As part of the Maintenance team, the Assistant Maintenance Manager works with Maintenance Technicians or other maintenance staff to ensure all equipment necessary in production of tools is in working order capable of meeting production quantity goals and quality standards. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Working with Maintenance Manager to establish, implement, and maintain a program that ensures all central systems, production equipment, inspection equipment, washing/coating equipment, and warehouse equipment are in effective working order. Working with Building and Safety Manager, as needed, to troubleshoot building equipment or systems. Coordinating the maintenance of machinery (preventative or repair) with Production Manager and Production Planning Manager or Supervisor. The ability to work with Maintenance Technicians, if necessary, to perform machine maintenance activities, including soldering and/or welding. Ensuring equipment and systems are maintained to manufacturers' specifications for optimal performance. Working with the Maintenance Manager to develop and provide preventative maintenance schedules on all machinery. Maintaining proper maintenance and repair records and documentation as required by the company's quality management system. Monitor and order maintenance supplies as necessary to ensure proper stock at all times. Maintaining all work areas in a safe, clean, and orderly fashion. Observing all safety rules and regulations, including wearing and maintaining appropriate personal protective equipment. Other responsibilities or duties as requested by the Maintenance Manager or Executive Management

Experience & Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 5 years' experience in Machine Maintenance. High School diploma, certifications from an accredited program, and 10+ years experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree.
- Mechanical and electrical maintenance skills required
- Ability to drive a forklift - training / certification will be provided.
- Ability to do hands-on work.
- Solid understanding and ability to use precision measuring devices, gauges, and a variety of both hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to identify problems and gather data necessary to diagnose and correct the issue.
- Organizational and time management skills, as well as the ability to balance multiple priorities and demands.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills that support working with a diverse group of people.
- The ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, through email / electronic media, and over the phone.
- Ability to be detail oriented.
- Ability to manage and supervisor others.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. This position requires regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
Other requirements are:
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs (not on a regular basis)
- Must be able to climb a ladder.
- Must have flexibility of hands / fingers for handling small and/or fragile parts, electrical wires, etc.
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and grasp to perform the duties of the position.
- Visual acuity, with or without corrective lenses, to ensure ability to read small / fine print.

Working Conditions:
The Assistant Maintenance Manager may work in a variety of settings, that may include the following:
- A manufacturing or warehouse area, where there may be contact with natural oils, synthetic oils, and various grinding dusts. This area has moderate noise and has climate control.
- By nature of the position contact with electricity or moving machine parts, may also occur. The Assistant Maintenance Manager must be aware of all safety protocols in place for any maintenance activities performed.
