Are you ready to take your construction career to the next level? Doug Speedling Builders Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Lead Field Framer to join our dynamic team. As the Assistant Lead Field Framer, you will play a key role in overseeing construction site operations, ensuring that all framing tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. You will work closely with the Lead-Person and Assistant Area Manager to manage multiple projects, supervise crew members, and maintain job site productivity. This role also involves contributing to the education and development of your crew.

- Project Oversight: Oversee job progress, ensuring all tasks align with company standards and safety protocols.
- Team Leadership: Lead and supervise carpenters and journeymen, delegating tasks and managing daily operations.
- Material Management: Ensure timely delivery and proper use of materials and tools on site.
- Training & Mentorship: Assist in the education and skill development of carpenters on your crew.
- Communication: Maintain clear communication with the Lead-Person and management to keep projects on track.
- Quality Control: Ensure all work meets the company's quality standards and that projects are completed within budget and time constraints.
- Job Reporting: Track and report hours worked by crew members and regularly update management on job progress.
- Safety Leadership: Enforce safety protocols, ensuring the job site is clean and safe for all workers.
- Experience: A minimum of 4 years of construction experience or equivalent is required, with a focus on framing. Education from a 1 or 2 year Carpentry program is very helpful.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to interact with crew members, management, and external partners.
- Knowledge of construction techniques, including the use of hand and power tools.
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret construction drawings.
- Must be physically capable of performing duties, including lifting up to 75 pounds unassisted and working in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license and good vehicle to get to work
- High work ethic, personal integrity, and a professional appearance.
- Environment: Construction site-based, with exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions.
