Job Overview:
At Cotopaxi, people are always at the heart of what we do, and as the Assistant General Manager of our Distribution Center, they/she/he will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our DC, supporting not only direct-to-consumer orders but also serving our brick-and-mortar stores, wholesale partners, and more. In partnership with the Director of Distribution, you will oversee day-to-day operations, guiding your team to meet production goals and improve efficiency across the board. With a strong focus on B2B sales support, you’ll be instrumental in ensuring seamless operations, leveraging data and analytics to drive smarter, more strategic decisions, and optimizing workflows for continuous improvement.
This role is ideal for a dynamic, people-centered leader with 5-7 years of experience in managing a fast-paced, multi-faceted distribution center. What You’ll Do (Job Responsibilities):
- Building Management: Partner with the Director of Distribution to effectively lead and manage all aspects of our DC, ensuring efficient inbound and outbound operations, order accuracy, and timely fulfillment.
- Operational Oversight: With the Director of Distribution, develop and implement strategic plans for the DC and prepare detailed reports and analyses to support informed decision-making by senior leadership.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and interpret operational metrics to identify trends, inform decisions, and improve performance. Collaborate with sales and planning teams to align the DC with sales objectives.
- Customer Focus: Maintain a high standard for order accuracy, timeliness, and quality. Work closely with the technology, sales, and customer service teams to ensure seamless order processing, fulfillment, and communication with key stakeholders. Address operational challenges impacting the customer experience.
- Inventory Management: Oversee daily inventory operations and reporting to optimize stock levels and reduce shrinkage ensuring accuracy, including reconciliation of inventory discrepancies and adjustments.
- Production Control: Lead our ProdCon team, ensuring effective workflow planning, production scheduling, and execution as well as timely and accurate tracking of order flows based on SLA deadlines.
- Returns Management & Optimization: Oversee timely and efficient processing of customer returns, ensuring minimal disruption to operations while maintaining high customer satisfaction and cost control.
- Administration: Oversee payroll processing and time management for accuracy and compliance. Partner with People Operations to ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
- Team Leadership & Development: Support building and developing a diverse team of operations professionals. Establish KPIs and provide regular performance feedback to ensure accountability and professional development. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and foster a culture of innovation.
- Safety & Engagement: Accountable for creating a safe workplace by establishing and implementing safety protocols and standards. Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive workplace culture for all employees to collaborate and recognize performance to increase employee engagement.
Experiences to Highlight (What You Need to Succeed):
Your Experiences:
- You bring 5-7 years of experience overseeing a multi-faceted distribution center with a heavy emphasis on B2B sales support.
- You bring 5-7 years of experience leading a team of 30 direct reports.
- Understanding of international and domestic transportation logistics.
- Expertise in identifying operational inefficiencies and implementing process improvements to enhance performance.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to leverage data to inform decision-making and drive operational improvements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and have previous experience with a Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Jasci and NetSuite experience preferred.
- Our DC channel is growing and evolving, so you’ll be evolving with it, which is why we like to see candidates who show a strong capacity for collaboration, creative-thinking, and adaptability.
- Prior forklift experience is preferred.

The salary range for this position is $85,000-95,000/year and will be based on the experience that you bring to the table.
