Job Summary:
As an Assistant Operating Partner, you’ll play a vital role in overseeing hospitality and culinary operations, training and developing staff, and ensuring exceptional food preparation and service that meets our high standards.
In this key leadership role, you’ll manage scheduling, inventory, and costs, while addressing guest service needs with professionalism and care. Whether it’s maintaining a safe and clean environment, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, or stepping into senior management responsibilities, your impact will drive the success of our operations.
Job Responsibilities:
• Oversee restaurant operations and ensure seamless management in the absence of any member of the management team.
• Recruit, onboard, and develop management and team member staff, including conducting interviews and tracking certifications.
• Provide leadership training and guidance in P&L processes, cost management, safety, and culinary standards.
• Manage staff scheduling and ensure accountability for operational excellence.
• Maintain product quality, food cost controls, inventory management, and adherence to recipes.
• Ensure kitchen and facility maintenance, safety compliance, and effective vendor relationships.
Job Requirements:
• 5+ years restaurant management experience; prior background in culinary operations is a plus but not a requirement; must be willing to oversee culinary operations in addition to hospitality operations
• Experience working in a hands-on, fast paced, high volume environment
• Adapt quickly to a variety of work environments, and work effectively with different types of people
• Ability to mentor and train team members
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with guests, resolve conflict, and provide direction to staff.
• Involvement/understanding of managing inventory, cost of goods and overall control of financials
• Must be able to stand and walk for periods of eight to ten hours in length each shift
• Must be able to reach, bend, balance and transport various objects weighing up to 30 lbs. repeatedly during a shift. At times it might be necessary to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work around various levels of temperature, including warm to very warm temperatures in the kitchen
Preferences:
• Experience working in full-service casual dining
• Experience working in a restaurant chain or franchise with established processes, systems, and accustomed to corporate structure and protocols
