Key Accountabilities:
- Maintains a strong presence in the business ensuring the proper execution of operational, safety, and sanitation standards as well as holding individuals across the team accountable
- Establishes and maintains daily operating circumstances that optimize revenue generation by creating best-in-class guest experiences
- Works with all departments to mitigate liabilities for patrons, employees, and musicians
- Seeks out and establishes constant efforts to reduce operational costs without creating liabilities
- Manages to guest expectations and experiences in an effort to produce 95% 4 and 5-star reviews
- Nurtures a positive culture across the team
- Designs and executes a plan to professionally develop the managers on duty (MOD) by pushing them to operate at the highest level
- Ensures cash accountability across all operations and integrity across all employees
General Responsibilities:
- Responsible for training and developing all managers and hourly personnel in all operations departments
- Reviews and approves the weekly schedule for all MODs that speaks to double and triple coverage when needed while minimizing unnecessary costs
- Oversees the performance management process by supervising the employee evaluation process in accordance with 3P Merit Scoring Factors and executing weekly coaching sessions and monthly evaluations with all members of the operations team
- Actively manages performance across the team through the Business Management Tools, maintaining them daily/weekly/monthly
- Creates and manages a MOD checklist for day and night shift operations that articulates every detail needed for managing operational excellence and guest expectations
- Creates systems for educating bar staff that result in product continuity, operational efficiency, speed of service, and optimum guest experiences
- Works with the Customer Service Manager to ensure that staff members keep the facility extremely clean, mitigate liabilities effectively, keep patrons safe, and support all special events proficiently
- Ensures that all managers and employees are trained to accurately complete incident reports and direct all efforts to manage submissions to GM/Owners/HR/Liability Coordinator to include detailed record keeping
- Establishes and enforces up-to-date SOPs for all positions in operations
- Partners with the Human Resources Team to ensure that training is documented along with all considerations for upward mobility as well as ensuring that all disciplinary actions are efficiently and equitably recorded across all operations positions
- Seeks out and rectifies all operations issues that create liabilities, prohibit any relevant efficiencies, and potentially encumber revenue generation
- Works cohesively with all departments to ensure that special events are managed perfectly with regard to all operational considerations
- Supports monthly bartender/waitstaff meetings oriented around training and distributing relevant information so that employees are constantly aware of evolving expectations and policies
- Pushes bartenders to become experts in their tradecraft
- Manages POS systems for efficiency and general operations to include the speed of service, pricing and specials, and ease of access to analytics contained therein
- Ensures that MODs are capable of allocating personnel efficiently to optimize revenue generation
- Ensures that all monetary transactions are managed daily to the highest standard by maximizing cash accountability and conducting/recording all necessary audits
- Directs efforts to assist the accounting team with all necessary fiscal elements of operations
- Cultivates positive cultural development in conjunction with the Human Resources Director
- Implements strategic inventory management practices to establish seasonal par levels for each bar, minimize waste, and review inventory reconciliation weekly for opportunities
- Reviews weekly schedule to ensure adequate operating coverage while minimizing unsubstantiated costs by controlling variable labor through staffing templates
- Minimizes overtime for variable labor
- Oversees operational staffing in conjunction with the Customer Service Manager, and Assistant Operations Manager
- Ensures that contracted employees such as the Escambia County Deputies are adequately scheduled for the needs of the business and present 365 days a year for operations purposes
- Conducts weekly cleaning inspections for all bar environments managing it to the highest standard of expectations in terms of clean operating conditions.
- Manages all POS hardware needs in conjunction with the IT team to ensure that all operational needs are met
- Manages all barware needs to ensure that all operational needs are met
- Investigates the discount schedule weekly to minimize abuse and determine programming efficiency
- Directs the integration of any and all new technologies relevant to operations
Schedule Requirements:
- This is a full-time position that will require your presence on-site, on weekends, major holidays and special events throughout the year. The position requires a demanding schedule: on-site presence 6 nights a week during peak season with an average of 50-65 hours per week (especially during season). On-site presence is required during peak business hours.
- Position also requires digital connectivity and monitoring business tools while not on-premise.
Physical Demands:
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
- Ability to move, and transport food carts, equipment, and supplies
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 50LBs
- Capable of working in extreme hot or cold environments
Qualifications and Requirements:
- At least five years of high-volume, hospitality management experience including in a bar setting
- Experience and proven track record of operating profitable existing business operations as well as startups
- Strong leadership, team building, and communication skills including considerable proficiency in coaching/mentoring
- Basic business math and financial knowledge
- Effective analytical and decision-making skills
- Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel & Outlook & Google
- Must possess knowledge of business and management principles, planning, resource allocation, human resources, leadership, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
- Administrative skills
- Cannot have previous felonies (within last 7 years) or charges involving assault/battery, drugs, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, culinary arts, or hospitality
