A rapidly growing company specializing in flooring and wall tile installations is seeking an Assistant General Manager to oversee its field operations, team management, and contractor coordination. The ideal candidate is a team player with experience in wood, carpet, and tile installation, along with strong customer service skills and excellent communication abilities. Working collaboratively, the new leader will contribute to achieving business objectives by ensuring operational excellence, maintaining strong working relationships, and upholding commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.

Location: Round Rock, TX
Type of Position: Direct Hire
Responsibilities:
- Recruit, hire, train, and direct area Field Assistants.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to area Field Assistants.
- Evaluate area Field Assistants performance; conduct Quarterly Reviews and set goals.
- Mentor area Field Managers.
- Provide daily guidance and input to area Scheduling and Service team members.
- Recruit, evaluate, and track contractor performance on installations and repairs.
- Verify and track installations and repairs with crews of contractors.
- Point person for field communication with customers and installation crews handling installations and repairs.
- Manage contractors during installation and repair services.
- Perform Pre-Walk jobsite inspections prior to installation to ensure a quality install.
- Job site testing and measuring of substrates prior to installation to assure city codes and installation guidelines are met.
- Perform Post-Walk jobsite inspections after installation for quality control.
- Perform occupied inspections on warranty issues and define actions / scope of work needed to resolve warranty claims.
- Communicate with Builder Superintendents and Warranty Managers on the results of all Pre / Post Walk results and Inspections.
- Maintain strong, positive working relationships with Superintendents, Warranty, and Construction Managers.
- Help other team members when needed.
- Perform monthly inventory counts of area warehouses.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or other relevant business experience
- Wood/Carpet/Tile Installation experience
- Experience with customer service and interaction
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail
- Strong team player
- Experience with construction jobsite conditions and safety requirements
- Ability to measure and calculate square and linear footage
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Willingness to learn
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and professionalism at all times
- Possess strong problem-solving skills
- Possess strong time management skills
- Not intimidated by social interaction on the phone or in person
