WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY LOOK LIKE?:
RESPONSIBILITIES
As our Assistant General Manager, you'll be a seat on the management team. These are the results you'll be hired to accomplish:
» ① Develop a High-Performing Dining Room Team
Through very-hands on training & mentoring, you'll grow front-of-house *dream team* that's full of the exact right people, in the exact right roles.
» ② Delivering ‘Good-Time’ Hospitality, Every Time
From the first hello to the last thank you, you'll make sure that every guest experiences our good-time hospitality, every time.
» ③ Smooth Day-to-Day Operations
You'll ensure the day-to-day operations run smooth like *butta*. And when sh*t inevitability hits the fan? You're there, sleeves rolled up, ready to help.
» ④ Real-Time Staffing & Labor Cost Control
You'll ensure that every shift is staffed 'just right'. Not too many people, but not too few either - just the right amount to make magic happen, without breaking the bank.
» ⑤ Ready-to-Show Dining Rooms
You'll lead the charge to make sure our dining rooms are presentable, so fresh, and so clean clean.

PAY
The total compensation for this position will fall between $60,000 - $70,000 / year. Base salary depends on relevant experience, and quarterly bonus potential is based on sales, profitability, and completion of special projects.
WORK SCHEDULE
This position is full-time and salaried, with a semi-set schedule that allows for flexibility. Days off are typically back-to-back. Our Assistant General Manager will work 5 days, and typically 45-ish hours per week.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Here are some of our must-haves & would-like-to-haves:
- At least 2 years of high-volume restaurant experience in a Assistant General Manager, or equivalent, role
- Upscale or fine-dining restaurant experience in an Assistant General Manager role - a major plus!
- Must have current ServSafe Manager & BASSET Certifications
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must have open availability - including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must have the ability to regularly work 45-ish hours per week
- Must have a valid driver's license & sole access to a personal vehicle
Familiarity with Toast, SevenRooms, 7Shifts, & Margin Edge, a plus!

Wooden Paddle is a communal, wood-fired pizzeria with artsy cocktails & good-time energy. We don't take ourselves too seriously, but we take our food, drinks, and hospitality extremely seriously.
And we're growing! We're opening up another Wooden Paddle in La Grange in early 2025, an event venue (named Remi!) in early 2025, and a rooftop bar in late 2026. Opportunities for growth are everywhere here!
