Our Impact:
The Tax Department of Freddie Mac’s Legal Division provides legal counsel and execution support for a wide range of mortgage-related securitization programs, debt offerings and financial product transactions.
This position has a key role in a variety of securities offerings, including credit risk transfer securitizations, re-performing loan securitizations, multifamily and single-family securitizations, and debt offerings; the position will also support the development of new products and related company initiatives.

Your Impact:
Serve as a trusted advisor to capital markets clients in securitization and financial products transactions and provide counsel on program improvements and innovations. Additionally, advise Tax Compliance and business divisions on tax implications of transactions. Your advice will help craft company products, policies and operations and impact the industry in furtherance of Freddie Mac's mission.
Collaborate with peers, outside counsel and internal legal professionals, and interact on behalf of the company with counterparties.
Contribute as a key member of the Legal team to bring to market complex securitization offerings in partnership with various business divisions.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree; membership in good standing in a state Bar, and a minimum of 5 years of legal experience. Master of Laws degree (LL.M Tax) preferred.
Experience in securitization and financial product transactions with a law firm or corporate law department.
Substantive knowledge of taxation of securitization transactions and/or financial products.
Ability to lead and manage transactions, including drafting and negotiating tax disclosure documents in sophisticated securities transactions.
Ability to advise Tax Compliance and business divisions on complex tax issues.

Subject-matter expertise and excellent technical and practical skills in leading the execution of complex mortgage-backed securities transactions and advising business divisions on financial product transactions.
Creativity and problem-solving skills to effectively advise clients in collaboration with internal partners and other legal experts.
Ability to understand business goals, processes and constraints and to collaborate effectively with clients and internal and external stakeholders, including counterparties in furtherance of those goals.
Excellent communication skills, including comfort interacting with internal management and external partners.

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $170,000 - $254,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
