Role Overview:
Our team consists of attorneys spanning multiple legal practices, tasked with providing various services. Through our combined expertise and experience, we assist staff across all departments by facilitating agreements and projects that further the mission of the organization. Our goal is to help our clients reach and exceed their goals by working collaboratively to provide answers and assistance on any legal inquiry.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal, policy, and strategic guidance on federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, employee relations, and policy implementation and compliance.
- Offer advice and counsel on employee relations matters, advising HR partners throughout the lifecycle of employee events.
- Research, strategize, draft, and respond to administrative agency charges and legal correspondence.
- Partner with external counsel on employment litigation matters.
- Assist with the interpretation, development, drafting, and updating of institutional HR contracts and policies to comply with legal requirements and interpretive changes.
- Provide guidance to HR partners on compliance with current and updated policies.
Qualifications:
- Skilled at drafting legal documents, identifying trends, legal research, risk management, and client interactions.
- Detail-oriented, organized, efficient, and consistently achieving positive results, providing outstanding client service, even under challenging circumstances.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and handling sensitive, confidential matters professionally.
- A collaborator who can work independently or as part of a team to get the job done.
- Adept at balancing multiple assignments simultaneously with a project management mindset.
- Capable of cultivating positive relationships with colleagues, clients, and leaders at all levels, while maintaining an independent and objective perspective.
- Able to provide candid, clear, and direct legal advice (both verbal and written) that is pragmatic and recognizes the broader consequences of the legal advice.
- Committed to fostering open and supportive employee relations.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor degree and admission to the state bar.
- 4-7 years of legal experience.
- Experience handling HR employment law matters in a sensitive, professional, and confidential manner.
- Sound business judgment and integrity.
- Strong computer and software proficiency.
