A senior lawyer who is a highly qualified attorney handling complex legal matters and projects on behalf of the Company.

Primary Duties:

Primary Duties and Accountabilities

1 Performs as a specialist in employee benefits and executive compensation law and provides

technical and expert legal services to Exelon business units.

Under minimal supervision, plans, conducts and supervises complex legal assignments, 75%

necessitating ability to evaluate matters which may have a major bearing on the conduct of the

Company’s business; evaluates both legal and business risks and advises clients accordingly.

Interprets and applies organization policy according to law. Represents Exelon in agency

proceedings and/or relevant litigation.

2 Prepares, and revises as necessary, budgets and early matter assessments for all matters 5%

involving outside counsel.

3 Provides lead direction and/or project leadership direction to less experienced attorneys and 5%

support staff.

Job Scope:

JOB SCOPE

 

Provide legal advice for Exelon’s employee benefit plans and compensation programs, including defined benefit pension, defined contribution retirement, non-qualified (SERP and deferred compensation), health and welfare, long and short-term incentive, and severance. -Draft and review plan and program documents, summary plan descriptions, and employee communications. -Counsel ERISA plan fiduciaries, including conducting fiduciary training. -Advise on ERISA claims and appeals. -Subject matter expertise in ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, ACA, Mental Health Parity, 409A, and related laws.

Supports more senior attorneys in the ongoing management of relationships and matters with Exelon Operating Companies/Business Units and outside counsel.

Demonstrates superior legal judgment in the business context.

Demonstrates innovation; generates new ideas and devises original and successful solutions, programs or actions.

Minimum Qualifications:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

An LLB or JD from an accredited law school and be licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdictions. At least 7 to 10 years of professional experience in a specialized area of law. Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of the legal field to the completion of complex assignments. Requires excellent legal research, analytical abilities and on ongoing knowledge of federal or state law. Must have the ability to communicate clearly � both orally and in writing; to read and analyze legal materials and other data; to work in stressful conditions under time deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of 5 years of experience in Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Law.

• Annual salary will vary based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors:USD $164,000.00/Yr. - USD $246,000.00/Yr.
