Concordia University Chicago (CUC) invites applications to be the Defensive Coordinator for the Football Program.
This position reports directly to the Head Football Coach under the director of the Athletic Director and is located in River Forest, IL.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- This position is responsible for the defensive side of the football program. This includes, but it not limited to,
- Recruitment and retention of student-athletes to meet enrollment and roster expectations
- Development and implementation of the defensive strategies for the program
- Design practice plans to build the level of talent and skills for the defensive student-athletes to improve application of skills during competition.
- Collaborate with the head coach in the evaluation and management of defensive position coaches
- Developing student-athletes as needed as part of the building a competitive and successful football program.
- Adhere to all rules, policies, and bylaws for Concordia University Chicago (CUC), Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC), and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
- Incorporating the Concordia University's mission and fostering a Christian environment for the student-athlete's academic, athletic, social, and spiritual development.
- Candidates must support and be committed to the mission and identity of Concordia University Chicago, a university of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS).

- Demonstrated experience in planning and developing football student-athletes on the defensive side of play
- Maintaining a minimum standard of abilities to be competitive
- Successful recruitment and retention strategies

- Improves work performance and that of others by being receptive to and appropriately sharing information
- Strong administrative skills, including related computer and technology skills
- Superior verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Enthusiastic supporter of Lutheran higher education and Concordia University Chicago
Minimum Experience Required: Three years of coaching experience on the defensive side of the ball
Preferred Experience: Minimum of two years of successful coordinating experience on the defensive side of the ball
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree; Master's preferred
