About the Job
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
Master’s degree in methodological (survey research, statistics) or other relevant content area (public policy, political science, communication, business administration, marketing)
ORBachelor’sdegreeplus 5 years of experience in survey research administration
Experience
Project management experiencewithin research setting (academic or private sector)
Training and supervisory experiencewith multiple research assistants or other comparable employees
Experience managing multiple modes of quantitative and qualitative data collection
Experience draftingmaterials(e.g., press releases, memos, reports)for promotion of basic findings and in-depth peer-reviewed research
Experience teaching research methods courses to undergraduate or graduate students (preferred)
Knowledge, Skills, Ability:
Exceptional communication,leadership,training,presentation, organizational,and administrative skills
Data analysis skills (includingSPSS or comparable quantitative analysis software/system)
Ability to coordinate with multipleschools,departments,andothergroupsacross the universitycampus
Comfort with or willingness to communicate with newsmedia aboutthe substance of survey findings
Interest inidentifyingand developing new projects and relationships on a growing campus
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Generally:Performmanagerial andadministrative tasks to support the function of the Survey Research Center, including budgeting, payroll,trainingand supervision of interviewers during surveys
Develop and draft research materials based on data collected through HPU Polls
Manage staff of studentresearch assistants
Manage vendor and contractor relationships
Manage website updates,changesand requests
Respond to requests fromDirector,Office of Communication,and media outlets for information about, analysis of,and commentary on survey results
ACCOUNTABILITY:
Assistant Director will report to the Director of the Survey Research Center
