We are seeking a dynamic Assistant Director of Nursing to oversee the total care and safety of all residents and employees during his/her tour of duty. The ADON is responsible for monitoring nursing staff, nursing activities, and patient care, as well as ensuring nursing activities are in compliance with federal, state, and local standards.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, and directing the Nursing Department and Oversee risk management impacting on the overall risk reduction and quality improvement for the facility.
- In the absence of the DNS, you will oversee the entire nursing department ensuring compliance with all federal, state and local regulations.
- Identify the needs, problems and progress of nursing services and make recommendations for improvement.
- Implement and maintain quality care standards and policy and procedures across the department.
- Conduct regular rounds to monitor delivery of nursing care and address any complaints.
- Carry out, coordinate and manage administrative functions in areas or programs related to nursing services (wound care, infection control, staff development, etc.)
- Help to hire, train, teach, and monitor nursing staff and other support staff activities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Administrator and Director of Nursing.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Valid New York State RN License.
- Must possess strong leadership skills as well as a strong focus for top notch resident care.
- Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc. of the Nursing Department.
- Previous ADON, RN Supervisor and/or Risk Management experience required.
- Excellent communication skills.
