Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) and Infection Prevention Specialist. This dynamic role combines leadership, education, and infection prevention expertise to ensure the highest standards of care for our residents. The ADON supports the Director of Nursing in managing clinical operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Infection Prevention:
- Develop, implement, and monitor infection prevention and control policies and practices.
- Educate staff on infection prevention protocols and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Conduct surveillance and reporting of infections, ensuring timely response to outbreaks.
Clinical Education:
- Oversee new employee orientation and onboarding for nursing and clinical staff.
- Provide education for CNAs and nurses to address skill gaps and promote best practices.
- Facilitate skills labs and ongoing training to enhance clinical competencies.
Leadership & supervision:
- Serve as a working supervisor, supporting and mentoring clinical staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure personalized care plans meet residents’ needs.
- Participate in the nursing on-call rotation every 4th weekend.
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Nebraska.
- Minimum 2 years of skilled nursing experience required, long-term care setting preferred.
- Previous leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of infection prevention protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Passionate about mentoring staff and delivering high-quality care.
