Requirements for the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON):
- Must possess current, unencumbered nursing license in Massachusetts
- Licensure as Registered Nurse (RN), preferred
- Nursing degree from an accredited college or university
- Two (2) years of clinical nursing experience within a hospital, nursing care center or other related healthcare setting.
- Must have minimum of one year experience in long term care.
- Must have experience in supervision and principles, practice of teaching, and computer skills.
- Experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices strongly preferred.
Job Duties for Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON):
- Assure appropriate utilization of resources necessary for the delivery of quality patient care
- Communicate with other departments, patients, and families to ensure a coordinated interdisciplinary approach
- Oversee staff and assist when needed and directed by the Director of Nursing
- Manage the facility's staff education program. Develop proactive training plans for groups and individuals, and respond to re-education needs of caregivers as identified by the facility. Participate in New Employee Orientation, ensuring new staff are equipped for their roles within the facility.
- Manage the facility Infection Prevention and Control Program. Assist with the identification of infection risk, trends in infection, and lead action plans related to infection control/reduction.
- Participate in the facility's nursing leadership on-call rotation with the rest of the clinical operations management team.
