As an Assistant Director of Nursing you are at the heart of the Clinical Department. Your work will ensure our residents receive the high standard of care they have grown to expect at this facility by assisting with overseeing all aspects of the Clinical Department, assisting with instilling a positive and inclusive facility culture, assisting with setting and attaining Nursing Department goals, ensuring the nursing department is in compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations. Our residents will depend on your knowledge, skills, and attention to detail to ensure they receive an unparalleled standard of care.
Responsibilities are to assist in the following:
- Direct, oversee and evaluate all nursing personnel (registered nurses, LPN's, C.N.A.'s, etc.)
- Guide staffing procedures
- Set objectives and long-term goals for the nursing department
- Organize and coordinate admission, nursing and patient care procedures
- Develop and enforce policies aiming for legal compliance and high quality standards
- Control budgets and monitor expenditures
- Resolve issues and deficiencies when needed
- Manage record-keeping procedures
- Collaborate with other departments and professionals to streamline operations
- Report to upper management
Skills
- RN with current Illinois nursing license in good standing
- In-depth knowledge of resident care
- Understanding of basic budgeting and financial reporting
- Great knowledge of regulations, survey processes, and best practices in healthcare
- Willingness to keep abreast of changing standards in nursing administration
- Must have excellent assessment, clinical and supervisory skills
- Must be familiar with the Med Pass procedures, all nursing programs, EMR documentation, the MDS, etc.
- Excellent ability to lead and develop personnel. Should be able to lead by example and train staff in any new policies/procedures to elevate the clinical expertise of the nursing team
- Great communication and people skills
- Outstanding organizational and stress management skills
- Aptitude in problem-solving
- Degree in nursing; Master’s degree in nursing or healthcare administration is a plus
- Valid nursing and CPR certification
- Solid work history
Salary commensurate with experience.
