Job Summary: The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) plays a crucial leadership role, supporting the Director of Nursing in managing the daily operations of the nursing department. The ADON ensures the delivery of exceptional patient care, maintains compliance with regulatory standards, and implements effective nursing policies. This position involves supervising nursing staff, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and driving initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Supervision:
- Assist in planning, organizing, and directing nursing operations.
- Supervise and mentor nursing staff, conducting performance evaluations and staff development.

Patient Care Management:
- Oversee patient assessments, care plans, and treatment implementation.
- Address patient care issues promptly and effectively.

Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Participate in inspections, audits, and quality assurance programs.

Policy and Procedure Development:
- Assist in developing and reviewing nursing policies and procedures.
- Ensure staff adherence to established guidelines.

Staff Training and Development:
- Coordinate training sessions and educational programs.
- Promote professional development and clinical competency.

Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with other departments for integrated patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Administrative Duties:
- Assist in budget preparation and resource allocation.
- Maintain accurate patient records and manage staffing schedules.

Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in NY.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Certifications: BLS/ACLS required; additional certifications preferred.
