A renowned agency like Catholic Charities requires a phenomenal HR team to support their efforts. We are currently looking for a Director of Human Resources to join our HR Team.
Hours: This is an exempt full-time position, generally requiring 40 hours, 8:30AM – 4:30PM; However, flexibility is required to meet the needs of the programs including being on call as schedule.
Work Locations
- The main office will be 775 Valley Road in Clifton. You are required to spend time at Catholic Charities Agencies in Morris, Passaic and Sussex Counties as assigned.
Summary of Job
- Assistant Director of HR helps the HR Director manage the day-to-day operations of the Human Resource environment. The ADHR help manage the administration of the human resources policies, procedures and programs. The ADHR carries out and or facilitates responsibilities in the following functional areas: hiring, on-boarding and orientation of new employees, training and development, employee relations, help handling progressive discipline, investigations, benefits, compensation issues, organizational development, and employment. This position will learn all relevant computer systems. This position will manage a staff of HR Generalists, HR Jr. Generalist, Recruiters and HR assistants.
Qualifications:
- Experience developing programs, processes and systems and identifying and streamlining efficiencies.
- Ability to effectively train staff to enable them to work productively in the programs of Catholic Charities agencies.
- Ability to function independently and to competently assess priorities.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Must be a team player with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and HRIS systems is required.
- Experience and/or wiling to learn HRIS, Payroll software, and relevant training software programs.
- Work with all necessary Medicaid checks for all staff.
- General knowledge of employment laws and practices'. HIPAA, FMLA, FLA, FLSA, workman’s comp, disability and EEO, among other.
- Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills; evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
- Flexible, high-energy individual with a comprehensive knowledge of HR disciplines.
- Extensive experience with employee relations, orientation, development, training and employment required.
- Must have a driver’s license, which is valid in the State of New Jersey. Position must have a physical exam including drug test prior to employment and must meet fingerprint and drug test requirements.
- Ability to learn all necessary Catholic Charities computer systems.
- Responsible for drug testing programs, testing, random tests, suspensions and terminations.
Education and Experience
Master's Degree in Human Resources preferred or related field.
PHR/SHRM-CP preferred.
1 Year Experience at Director Level, direct supervision of multiple staff
