The Assistant Director of Athletic Performance will report directly to the Director of Athletic Performance and support the design, implementation, and supervision of strength and conditioning programs for UC Irvine's 18 varsity teams. This position plays a vital role in promoting the physical development, health, and competitive success of student-athletes while contributing to a positive team culture. The assistant director will collaborate with various departments, including Sports Medicine, compliance, and coaching staff, to maintain high standards of athletic excellence and well-being. This role includes supervisory responsibilities for interns and volunteers while supporting the Director in daily operational tasks.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $77,000- $79,000 (Annual).
Required:
- Computer skills in programs relevant to job duties.
- Advanced knowledge of athletic injury prevention and the administration of therapeutic modalities, devices and techniques as well as of first-aid, athletic equipment and injury assessment and treatment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive matters involving athletic injuries and treatments.
- For positions associated with Sports Medicine, must maintain current knowledge of applicable rules and standards of the affiliated athletic conference, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) or National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), as well as other associations and agencies to which the campus adheres, and, at all times, avoid any and all violations of these rules and standards.
- Advanced ability to work in a collaborative manner and to organize and prioritize work assignments, conduct analysis relating to programs and operational procedures and develop resulting recommendations.
- Advanced skills necessary to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Advanced ability to organize and priority work assignments of self and others to ensure completion of assignments within required timelines.
- Advanced organizational and interpersonal skills needed to work with a diverse client group.
- Bachelor's degree in exercise science, kinesiology or related field
- Professional certification required. CSCS or CSSS
- 5-10 years Experience working in Strength & Conditioning at a NCAA Division I college. Strong knowledge of human physiology, Olympic lifting techniques, and sports performance training principles.
Preferred:
- Advanced knowledge of electronic medical records systems.
- Advanced knowledge of procurement function and campus budget requirements relating to athletic equipment and supplies.
- MasterÆs degree in related field preferred.
