The Opportunity
Lesley University is seeking an Assistant Director of Admissions, Bachelor of Fine Arts Liaison reporting to the Associate Director of Admissions. This candidate is responsible for overseeing a recruitment territory and will serve as the primary on-campus Bachelor of Fine Arts specialist. The Assistant Director of Admissions, BFA Liaison is expected to travel to regional and national recruitment events, meet with prospective students and families, and evaluate applications for admission to our undergraduate programs. As well as reviewing prospective student portfolios, they will build and maintain relationships with art education influencers. The ideal candidate will collaborate with colleagues within the Enrollment Department as well as building cross-departmental connections to aid in successful yield for BFA applicants. Additional responsibilities and projects will be assigned as needed.
Qualities and Capabilities
The successful candidate will have:
Bachelor’s degree (required)
1-3+ years’ experience working in higher education and/or customer service settings
Cross-cultural competence and ability to communicate effectively with students and families from diverse backgrounds
Capacity to plan, manage, and conduct travel, recruitment, and counseling activities targeting prospective students and influencers (parents, school counselors, professors) and other major stakeholders in the college search process
Ability to develop relationships with strategic high schools, secondary school counselors, art teachers, independent counselors, prospective students, families, and Lesley alumni
Demonstrated ability to present marketing messages and accurate academic information on all undergraduate programs leading to positive and informed decision-making regarding the fit between students and Lesley University
Ability to host public presentations both on and off campus re: Lesley’s undergraduate programs. Groups may range in size from 10 to 150 people. Programs may be held on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays), select Monday holidays, or in the evening
Plan, Organize and Conduct BFA related yield events, including but not limited to Boston National Portfolio Day, on campus portfolio review events, and information sessions
Manage databases and input data using a CRM, Colleague, Microsoft Word, and Excel
Valid U.S. driver’s license
