Your Role on the TeamThe Assistant Director leverages extensive administrative operations expertise to oversee the Humanities Center, a mid-sized unit within the School of Humanities. This role requires sound judgment in selecting appropriate methods and techniques for problem-solving. Reporting to the Executive Director of the Humanities Center, the Assistant Director supervises three program managers and four student assistants, manages center and program budgets, and oversees grant award budgets. Responsibilities also include managing the internal grants program that supports faculty and graduate student research, encompassing grant application and award management, peer review, applicant relations, and evaluation and reporting.

The expected salary range for this position is $85,400 - $121,100 (Annual).
Required:
- In-depth knowledge of University rules, regulations, and procedures related to budget, accounting, and personnel management.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including effective verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, and counseling abilities.
- Expertise in various administrative operations, including event planning, basic fundraising, risk management, website design, and grants regulations.
- Proficiency in University-specific software applications, such as KFS, AP Recruit, and HR hiring platforms.
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Advanced skills in strategic planning, analysis, problem-solving, and customer service.
- Knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques, as well as human resources policies for staff and academic employees.
- Creative and independent thinking with strong analytical skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external peers and managers.
- Advanced degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience/training.
- 4-6 years of experience in progressively responsible administrative management roles, including budget management.
Preferred:
- Doctorate in a related field and/or equivalent experience preferred.
