Overview
The Assistant Director of Therapeutic Services is integral to providing direction and oversight to therapeutic services at CHS and personalized therapeutic interventions to CHS program participants. They expand and enhance therapeutic initiatives, conduct comprehensive assessments, develop tailored plans, and oversee service coordination to ensure progress. As the primary point of contact, they cultivate collaborative relationships, advocate for resources, and guide individuals towards desired outcomes. They employ innovative approaches and provide clinical expertise and strategic interventions to meet participants' behavioral health needs. They also contribute to the growth and development of the therapeutics department.

Responsibilities
• Oversee the daily operations of therapeutic programming within CHS, including supervising therapeutic and peer support staff.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to harm reduction principles and the Housing First model and implement throughout therapeutic services and program development.
• Communicate with the Chief Program Officer, service providers, regulatory agencies, and consultants regarding operational, personnel, participant, and administrative issues.
• Foster therapeutic initiatives across CHS programs to promote increased responsibility and leadership among staff and participants.
• Direct and implement policies, objectives, or activities to ensure ongoing operations and enhance programs and services and advance CHS’ mission.
• Provide mental health support, counseling, and intervention, emphasizing the promotion of optimal well-being and self-efficacy.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments, including risk and suicide evaluations, to determine participants' needs and develop and review individualized treatment plans.
• Develop and regularly review crisis management plans.
• Make appropriate referrals to community mental health and/or medical providers to ensure participants receive quality, holistic care.
• Collaborate internally and externally and attend important programmatic meetings.
• Assist in organizing and implementing skills-related programming across CHS programs.
• Maintain accurate documentation, ensuring privacy and confidentiality in accordance with agency policies and HIPAA regulations.
• Maintain professional licensure and pursue continuing education.
• Review and adjust program operations, documentation, outcomes, and processes to meet the highest standards and regulatory requirements and ensure program compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and obligations to funders.
• Stay informed about best practices and emerging trends in service delivery.
• Complete all job duties in alignment with the mission and values of CHS. Knowledge Skills and Abilities Through a combination of experience and education, the Assistant Director will:
• Possess effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Exercise discretion, judgment, and skill to intervene effectively and promptly in crisis situations and challenging behaviors.
• Demonstrate a robust working knowledge of social service systems, including child welfare and homelessness systems.
• Exhibit expertise in working with individuals from a variety of backgrounds including but not limited to those that pertain to race, sexual orientation, gender, gender expression, housing status, drug use, mental health diagnosis, etc.
• Work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
• Establish and maintain boundaries effectively.
• Motivate and positively encourage individuals to succeed.
The Assistant Director of Therapeutic Services must possess an LCSW or, upon hire, have accumulated a minimum of 1500 hours towards their LCSW. The remaining hours will be supervised at no cost by an existing LCSW at CHS. If hired with an LSW, the individual would be responsible for the cost of obtaining their clinical license, while CHS will cover future expenses related to CEUs and licensure renewal.
Position Physical Demands:
The Assistant Director will be called upon to engage in physical activity related to general office work, including the capacity to lift 15lbs and stand or sit for extended periods. *This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
