Job Title: Assistant Dining Room Manager
Reports to: Cafe Manager
Department: Dining
Location: League House (140 S. Broad Street Philadelphia, PA 19102)
Description:
Provides weekly supervision of the Cafe and Founders dining rooms. Is actively participating in planning and executing dining events with the Cafe Manager. Provides daily administrative support to the dining office, with special focus on Founders and Café Meredith. Has the passion to ensure member and guest experiences are beyond expectations.
Responsibilities:
Cafe Meredith & Founders
- Presents a leadership presence on the dining room floor during specified service hours.
- Ensures clear communication between front of house and back of house to provide best possible service.
- Inspects overall room for cleanliness and works on preventative maintenance. Inspects tabletops to ensure neat, clean, and orderly presentation.
- Completes an end of the shift report for respective sales areas and ensures accuracies.
- Enters all breakfast and lunch Founders sales and gratuities into Excel.
- Enters all lunch and dinner sales and gratuities for Cafe Meredith
- Understands and embraces Club Tables. Communicates with the Member Events team to bring in members and Private Events team to bring in guests.
- Builds rapport with new and existing members.
- Works with Cafe Manager on ways to increase revenue within each dining room.
Administration
- Takes ownership of the dining email and answers the office phones.
- Strives to be knowledgeable of all League House dining rooms, their hours, and menus.
- Reviews chits from previous nights, Practices standard loss prevention techniques to ensure proper charging and billing.
- Keeps in constant and clear communication with management and colleagues via email.
- Does a weekly outreach for dining rooms, with a specific focus on Founders and Café Meredith.
- Orders and receives beverage products for dining department, as needed.
- Willingness to assist in all dining rooms and with private dining rooms.
- Assists with providing special touches to dining rooms and private events (i.e. flowers, cakes, décor).
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Requirements:
- Professional certifications and relevant experience are vital
- 3 years of food and beverage industry experience
- Food and beverage knowledge
- Technical experience and aptitude with inventory systems, MS Office, and ADP
- Experience communicating with members and/or customers using social media is a plus.
- Work schedule will include nights, weekends, and some holidays (Easter, Mother’s Day, Fall Ball, New Year’s Eve)
