Position OverviewThe Assistant Corporate Controller will support the financial operations of our general contracting firm, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective financial management. This role plays a critical part in the budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes, while also contributing to the overall strategic goals of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements and reports for senior management.
- Oversee job cost accounting and ensure accurate tracking of project costs and profitability.
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, ensuring timely invoicing and payments.
- Prepare AIA billing and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Support the month-end close process, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately.
- Assist with financial audits and provide necessary documentation to external auditors.
- Collaborate with project managers to develop budgets and forecasts for various construction projects.
- Utilize construction accounting software such as Sage, Vista, and Viewpoint for financial management.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of internal controls and accounting policies.
- Support the Corporate Controller and CFO in strategic financial planning and analysis.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or MBA preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in accounting roles, preferably in construction accounting or corporate accounting.
- Strong knowledge of job cost accounting and financial reporting standards.
- Experience with accounting software such as HCCS, Sage, Vista, and Viewpoint.
- Familiarity with AIA billing processes and union accounting.
