A high growth startup entertainment company in LA is looking for an Assistant Controller to join their team. Reporting to the Controller, the Assistant Controller will be responsible for owning the GL, managing staff, and setting up the first-year audit (amongst many other things). The Assistant Controller will need to be able to be nimble, switch gears quickly, and be able to keep pace within a fast-moving startup. Does this sound like you or someone you know? What do you need for this Assistant Controller role?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
- 7+ years of accounting experience
- Must have public accounting experience and/OR be an active CPA
- Advanced Excel
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP
- Oversee GL and accounting operations team members
- Own month-end close and financial reporting
- Create financial statements and conduct variance analysis
- Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations
- Interact with other business departments
- Amend and create new internal controls
- Provide recommendations for new processes
- Act as the liaison between the CPA firm during the financial statement audit and during tax season as well
